Business Funding Documents: What to Prepare

Having the right documents ready speeds up review and shows funding partners you're organized. This checklist covers what helps most — and what you don't need to share on an initial public form.

Start with the basics

Most business capital requests benefit from having these ready:

Recent business bank statements (typically 3–6 months)
Profit-and-loss statement or year-to-date financials
Existing debt schedule — what you owe, to whom, and on what terms
Business identification and entity documents

For equipment or inventory requests

If you're requesting equipment or inventory funding:

Equipment quote, invoice, or purchase order from the vendor
Equipment type and specifications
Available down payment, if any

For consolidation requests

If you're consolidating existing advances:

Current balances and remaining terms for each obligation
Payment amounts and frequency
Any payoff statements available

What NOT to share on the initial form

Don't submit sensitive information on the initial public request form. We never ask for your Social Security number, full bank account numbers, or passwords on the intake form. Documents can be provided later through a secure upload after a specialist reviews your request.
